Garfield Heights residents Richard and Alice Becka (pictured below) enjoy making a difference in the lives of the residents at The Village at Marymount. The Beckas have volunteered their time since 2007 and assist residents during such activities as Bingo, Wii bowling, and entertainment.

The Beckas’ dedication was rewarded as they were named Volunteers of the Year during an April 29 luncheon honoring all of The Village at Marymount’s volunteers. “We love working with the residents,” Alice Becka said. “It’s important to us that we give back to the community.”
Volunteers at The Village at Marymount transport residents to and from their daily activities, deliver newspapers and mail, and visit with residents among other services they perform.
“The Beckas refer to The Village at Marymount as their home away from home,” said Donna Galbraith, Director of Life Enrichment. “We need more people like them who are interested in giving back to their community.”
Suzanne Nall, RN, LNHA, Executive Director at The Village at Marymount, praised the volunteers. “Our volunteers do so much to enhance the lives of our residents. They provide an invaluable service that proves to be fulfilling for them as well.”
